MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
The Organization shall have the following categories of membership:
Regular Member
Regular Membership is open to individuals who meet the full professional qualifications as set forth by the Board of Directors.
- Doctor of Medicine graduate in the Philippines , or an equivalent degree in another country
- Licensed physician by the Philippine Professional Regulations Commission
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of breastfeeding and lactation medicine
Affiliate Member
Affiliate Membership is open to individuals who are engaged in work related to the field but do not meet the full qualifications for Regular Membership.
- A graduate of a recognized degree in the Philippines or abroad, with an advance degree ( NP, RN, IBCLC, RD, SLP) and other healthcare professionals interested in Breastfeeding Medicine who are certified by the appropriate entity.
- Non-physicians but working in the field of breastfeeding and lactation medicine such as one conducting research or studying a field related to breastfeeding medicine.
Associate Member
Associate Membership is available to individuals in training, including students, residents, fellows, or early-career individuals pursuing qualification in the field.
- Doctor of Medicine graduate in the Philippines, or an equivalent degree abroad
- Licensed physician by the Philippine Professional Regulations Commission
- On track towards fulfilling other criteria for full membership
- With commitment to aim for full membership
Honorary Member
Honorary Membership may be conferred upon individuals who have rendered distinguished service to the field or to the Organization. Honorary Members shall be nominated by the Board and approved by the Membership or as otherwise prescribed.
- Doctor of Medicine graduate in the Philippines, or an equivalent degree
- Licensed physician by the Philippine Professional Regulations Commission
- With significant contribution to breastfeeding medicine in the Philippines, or to PSBLM
- Invited by PSBLM, as approved by the Board through a resolution
- May or may not meet the eligibility requirements for full membership
Lifetime Member
- Full member of the society for at least a cumulative of 20 years
- Had paid the corresponding lifetime membership fee
RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
The rights, privileges, and obligations of each class of membership shall be determined by the Board of Directors and set forth in the Membership Guidelines.
ADMISSION AND TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
Procedures for admission, renewal, suspension, and termination of membership shall be established by the Board of Directors and outlined in the Membership Policies Manual.
